Course design

A golf course designed by Gaunt Golf Design will be inspired in part by the existing topography and natural surroundings. Designed with the landscape in mind, Jonathan's golf courses are challenging to play and visually attractive. Each design is bold, yet respects tradition, drawing inspiration from some of the greatest golf course designers of the early 20th century.

Individual, hand-drawn designs make the initial masterplan based upon the findings of the preliminary research. This provides stimulus for the development team and sets out options for the course.

Following client consultation, these designs are then honed to create a final working masterplan for submission as a planning application for development permits.

Following input of hand-drawn detailed design proposals by scanning/digitising we then use MicroStation primarily for the final drawings. We also import and export drawings in AutoCAD format. Engineering drawings and calculations are produced in SiteWorks whilst 3D flythroughs, perspectives and photomontages are created using ArtLantis, 3D Studio, Photoshop and QuickTime.
